Gerolamo Sacco quits the band. The consensual separation comes for professional and personal reasons.

I decided to leave all my job and all I did for Insex to the guys  in the name of friendship. Even I feel very tied to a project that I created and that I contributed to raise, there aren’t the conditions to keep on work together anymore.  I will keep to be the producer of the album anyway: the first Insex LP will be released by Miraloop Hearts in August. Hugs and kisses to all the fans and enjoy with “Inside, Insane, Insex”, the first and the last Insex album with Dragonfly touch!

As Desmond Hume says in Lost : See ya in another life, brotha!

L’indie rock “scordato”? Meglio viaggiare sul nuovo treno

Mi sapete dire da quanto tempo si parla di indie rock? Io, sinceramente, non me lo ricordo! Certo è che “indie” sta per indipendent e sottolineava quasi una continua lotta contro i grandi padroni della musica per emergere in questo ambiente…..ma oggi, correggetemi se sbaglio, non è tutto un pò troppo indie?
Ieri sono andato a sentire una band in un locale e già la denominazione “indie”, che capeggiava sulla locandina promozionale, mi aveva quasi fatto cambiare idea. Per carità, non ho nulla contro la musica indie, ma io ho sempre visto questo genere come un modo per mettersi subito “faccia a faccia” con il pubblico, senza l’intermediazione (più o meno manipolatrice) di certe superpotenze del settore.
Visto che fino ad ora sono stato anche abbastanza diplomatico, prendo subito una posizione definita dicendo: “eh mo basta!! avete rotto con sta musica indie!”
Il fatto è che “indie” è ormai una moda, una chitarra scordata, un cantante che fa di tutto per cantar male, un batterista che suona con le bacchette rotte……..certo, non si può fare di tutta l’erba un fascio, ma c’è tanto indie fatto così!
Ma, opinioni a parte, non pensate che si sia un pò persa quella sorta di comunione con il pubblico, chiamato ad interagire “veramente” con l’artista? secondo me sì.
Fortunatamente, queste premesse di “fare arte”, non si sono del tutto smarrite…..
L’altro giorno, sono venuto a conoscenza di un nuovo progetto lanciato da MIRALOOP e da Gerolamo Sacco.
“Gerolandia express” è un programma che simula un viaggio in treno, i cui corridoi sono infestati dalla musica di miraloop e gerolamo sacco, e le voci provenient dagli altoparlanti del treno sono le voci dei fan! Vi spiego meglio.
Il programma è pensato per il contesto radiofonico e del podcasting in cui i fan sono dei veri e propri prosumers, cioè consumers+producers. Gli utenti più “carichi” hanno già iniziato a mandare contenuti audio a Gerolamo Sacco che ha iniziato a mixarli nel flusso musicale, simulando seducenti hostess o comunque addetti ai lavori di un treno immaginario che viaggia sui binari della musica nuova e originale di Miraloop.
Vi starete chiedendo cosa c’entra tutto ciò con l’indie…..beh, a me sembra molto più valido e indie questo progetto, rispetto a tante cagate che si sentono in giro!
Se dobbiamo pensare al futuro musicale come a un qualcosa che abbatte letteralmente le distanze tra artista e pubblico, questa di sicuro è la tappa che, per ora, ci avvicina più alla meta.

Ingrosso: 1° premio a Ferrara

Ferrara, 27 Gennaio 2011.  Paolo Ingrosso si cimenta in un nuovo ambito creativo della composizione e stupisce il pubblico ferrarese: sarà lui a scrivere l’opera su Torquato Tasso commissionata dal premio internazionale Palazzo del Majno.

After the Serata “Verso Tasso”, and the performances of the scores of the Finalists, the Palazzo del Majno International Prize is proud to announce that about the 2010 edition of the Prize, the WINNER of the commission for the composition of the opera “Torquato Tasso” is Maestro PAOLO INGROSSO. M.° Ingrosso will write the entire Opera during next year together with Cesare Lievi as a librettist. The Jury decided to confer a commission to write a Symphonic-vocal piece on Maestro GIAMPAOLO TESTONI as a Special Prize. Congratulations for both of them from the Jury and the Direction of the Prize, which also wish to thank all of the participants for the very high quality of their scores. The next edition of the Palazzo del Mano International Prize will be announced soon.

Il Premio Palazzo del Majno è lieto di annunciare che il Vincitore della edizione 2010 , ovvero la commissione per l’Opera “Torquato Tasso”, è il Maestro PAOLO INGROSSO.  Paolo Ingrosso avrà un anno di tempo per completare l’Opera insieme con il librettista Cesare Lievi. La Giuria ha inoltre assegnato come Premio Speciale una commissione per un brano sinfonico vocale al Maestro GIAMPAOLO TESTONI. Ad entrambi vanno i più vivi complimenti della Giuria e della direzione del Premio. Ringraziamo tutti i Compositori che hanno voluto partecipare per l’altissimo livello delle partiture presentate. La prossima edizione del Premio Internazionale Palazzo del Majno sarà presentata nel corso dell’anno.

Torquato Tasso ha telefonato personalmente in direzione chiedendo esplicitamente che Ingrosso faccia uso dell’elettronica che lo ha reso così popolare anche nella sua opera lirica, al preciso scopo di incantare i teatri dove l’opera verrà riprodotta. Comunque sarà, un grande abbraccio da parte di tutti i musicisti Miraloop!

New Line Up for Insex

Miraloop wishes you a Merry Christmas presenting the new Insex Line Up, their official website www.insexofficial.com created by Miraloop, the new single “Wonderful” written by Gerolamo Sacco, the dragonfly, and a surprise for all the fans, a free download of the cover of “I Can’t Help Falling In Love” written by Elvis Presley. Insex are the top band of Miraloop ♥ Hearts since they was born less than an year ago. It’s an automatic link, the one between Insex and the 50′s music: Insex put together rock and dance influences as it was in the 50′s when rock’n'roll was born, and covering Elvis was the better way to mix all of this stuffs. The new line up can surely become one of the strongest Italian indie music band in the next future. You still see the performances of the “bros” Mantis Le Sin (voice) and Gerolamo Sacco (mind) together with Vigos’ hard guitar, but since now with Antonio Olivo (leader of Artifex) at bass and Vidua, stage name for Andrea Fedrezzoni, one of the most popular drummers of the North East of Italy. DeLord’s 1st LP incoming

Today Christian Carlino aka DeLord, following the success of 22 concerts all over Italy in one year, signed with Miraloop ♥ Hearts for his first album.

This is a funny story, because we planned this collaboration many times ago, but the marriage between Miraloop and Christian couldn’t be done before this moment. How to describe this guy? His nickname DeLord, an italish joke choosen by himself to show – ironically – his Naif way in beeing “a Lord”, is perfect. He plays piano, makes visual performances, writes books of poetry, everything in a original and  istinctive way, that made him loved by many people all around the world. Artistic production team of ♥ Hearts have changed him, showing in what he’s able to do in the entire work: writing and singing songs, combining these skills in order to create a real and original pop music project, joining the ♥ Hearts’ roster of crazy artists, rockers and electro-pop bands.

M. : You discovered Miraloop at the beginning of label’s activity, end of 2008, why does your first album coming just now?

C.C. : Because now I’m ready to do it. I met the label when I was the keyboards of DNR band, and I found in Mira’s artists so much energy… something very rare today in our country. Artistic, revolutionary, a bit crazy but…perfect for me:  guys are able to create “something” from “nothing”, in music as the artists features. When the diaspora in the DNR band begun(the music producer Gerolamo Sacco and the singer Mantis Le Sin at one side, the other guys at the other side), I found out I was working for the wrong dream.
“No Regrets for everything that I’ve done” but now I’m happy in following my Naif way!
Anyway thanks for both sides!

M: Do you think your music have changed in working with us?

C.C. : Yes, now I found the way to share my feelings with the audience, I’m ready to focus on my real project as I wanted to do.
“Sognare” is a photography of myself and I did it for myself, but I couldn’t keep walking this way for all my artistic life, even if thousand of people appreciated my first auto-production. Now you’re going to see a new DeLord, combinig visual feature (as in DNR) with the guy who plays piano in theatres. Just give me your ears and your eyes, I’ll show you… but I don’t wanna tell you more right now. It will be a surprise.
I also asked to Mantis Le Sin to perform a song with me… He joked about me (as usually) and said “Yes! Do you wanna also me to clean up your fuc***house?” So…get ready !

M: Should we expect a new look?

C.C. : Yes, my look changes as my music do! You saw 2 versions of myself: a funny J-Rock style and the “deep” me, now I’ll show you MY own visual style. But don’t worry, I won’t leave home my not-pair-colour Converse !!

M: when will the new album coming?

C.C. After my  single release….. I have a song I care to play first, something I wrote when I was with my ex band…

Insex

Bologna, 28 Gennaio 2009. Dopo il successo di Mantis Le Sin nella sua precedente band, i DNR, Miraloop decide di proseguire la collaborazione con questo artista e fare diventare realtà il suo nuovo progetto, accogliendo la decisione di Mantis di formare una line-up dei suoi migliori amici con la volontà di contrastare quello che definisce un  ”businnes musicale da ufficio”. E di farlo con ironia, capacità, irriverenza. MantiS specifica:  ”Ca**o, ormai le band sembrano formate da impiegati di bell’aspetto lanciati sul palco della mensa nell’ora di pausa. Tutto troppo legato alle regole del music businnes. Ora voglio divertirmi. Divertirsi funziona sempre, fare successo no. E divertirmi è già un successo.” Cinque personaggi diversi, ognuno dei quali proveniente da un mondo musicale diverso, ognuno dei quali rappresenta un animaletto, più o meno simpatico: nascono gli Insex. InSex, maliziosamente, sta per “insetti”. Ecco la formazione. MantiS Le Sin: voce, ovviamente la mantide religiosa. Alex Torchia: batteria, ragno, metal old school. Vigos: chitarra, scorpione, personalità indie rock. Mist Savage: basso, scarabeo, il vampirico dark. Darà vita al progetto Gerolamo Sacco: elettronica, libellula, stile dandy. Ex produttore dei DNR di MantiS, rimane alla sua abituale postazione al mixer in studio ma questa volta salirà anche sul palco per suonare in prima linea.  Il prezzo da pagare per Gerolamo nel dar vita ad una band con la voce di Mantis? La fine della collaborazione con il progetto DNR, nonostante egli abbia contribuito a portarlo in alto nella scena visual europea. Gli InSex si presentano con un primo singolo chiamato “InSex me…” che contiene due tracce: Pray me e Come to me. Il genere? E’ una particolare alchimia di stili, a tratti sperimentale, originale. Magari troppo immaturo per avere un nome identificativo, ma siamo sicuri che sarete voi a scegliere quello che più si adatterà allo stile Insex.

“InSide, InSane… InSex!”

After the success of Mantis The Sin in his previous band, Miraloop decided to continue the collaboration with him. Making his new plan become reality, we have accepted the decision of Mantis to form a line up of his best friends. With the will to fight what he calls a “musical business offce”, and to do it with humor, skills, and irreverence. “****! Now the band seems to consist of good looking employees thrown on stage from the dining hour break, all too tied to the rules of music business… now I want to have fun. Enjoying and finding pleasure in what you are doing always works. A band actually becoming successful is rare, but having fun while you are doing it is a success.” says Mantis. So now the singer brings together five different characters, each from a different musical world and each of which represent a little animal. With that… InSex is born, which mischieviously stands for “insects”. The team consists of: Mantis The Sin – vocals, obviously the praying mantis. Gerolamo Sacco – electronics, dragonfly, style dandy and the former producer of DNR who has left his usual position on the mixer in the studio to now perfom on stage. Alex Torchia – drums, spider, metal old school. Vigos – guitar, scorpion, an indie rock personality. Mist Savage – bass guitar, beetle, the vampire dark. InSex will be presenting their first single called “InSex me…” which contains two tracks – “Pray to me” and “Like Me”. The genre? It has a particular alchemy of styles, sometimes experimental and orignal. Perhaps this style is too immature to have an identifying name, but we are sure that you’ll choose the best name for InSex’s style.

“Inside, Insane… InSex!”

Diamonds @ Galleria Neon

Bologna, 9 12 2009. Stasera alla galleria Neon Campobase vi è stata la prima serata di Miraloop ♦ Diamonds, organizzata da Luigi Mastandrea, A&R Head di Miraloop. La serata, aperta da un breve dialogo tra Max Macchia (Radio Città Fujiko) e Gerolamo Sacco (art director Miraloop), ha visto una spettacolare performance di Paolo Ingrosso (elettronica) e Michele Spanghero (Contrabbasso), che hanno eseguito “Tape for Live Musicians” di Albert Mayr (pubblicato Miraloop ♦ Diamonds lo scorso aprile), ospite della serata anche in prima persona. E’ stata la terza importante interpretazione (dopo la prima, a New York, nel 1971, ed una ripresa italiana del Centro Tempo Reale di Francesco Giomi, nel 2007) del “Tape” di Mayr. Dopo la performance con Ingrosso, Michele Spanghero ha eseguito alcuni suoi brani per elettronica e contrabbasso a promozione di un’imminente pubblicazione con la nostra label. Ringraziamo tutti i presenti, gli artisti che hanno contribuito a dar vita a questo evento e, ovviamente,  tutto lo staff della Galleria Neon che ci ha ospitato.

Mantis stops recordings of the debut single of his new band.

Bologna, November 9, 2009: Mantis stops the recording sessions at Miraloop studios. Le Sin has to be operated.

The after DNR period is not lucky for Mantis Le Sin: after the breaking with Do Not Reanimate (now called Dreams Not Reality) was forced for the second time in stop the recordings of the debut single of his new band due to a vocal cords problem. These days the singer will undergo a delicate operation and it seems difficult to imagine a return in the studio, because it’s possible that Mantis will be forced to flee the scene, if not permanently, for a long period. The singer’s new band has just signed with Miraloop, and the label decided to continue with recordings and acting positively, sure that their leader will be back soon, microphone in his hand, to give voice in this new and bizarre project of the Italian scene .
Training, name, gender, style of this new band is still shrouded in mystery. According to the information leaked out, it appears that Le Sin, having past disputes with the DNR, has introduced into the new line-up his dearest friends.
All the Miraloop staff wishes to Mantis a speedy recovery.

Bologna, 09 Novembre 2009. Mantis interrompe le registrazioni negli studi Miraloop: Le Sin va operato.

Il periodo post DNR non è davvero tra i più fortunati per il cantante Mantis Le Sin. Dopo la rottura con i Do Not Reanimate (ora ribattezzati Dream Not Reality) ha dovuto interrompere per la seconda volta le registrazioni del singolo di debutto della sua nuova band a causa di un problema alle corde vocali.
Nei prossimi giorni e il cantante subirà un delicato intervento e pare sia difficile ipotizzare una data di rientro in studio, pare anzi che vi sia la possibilità che Mantis sia costretto ad abbandonare la scena, se non in maniera definitiva, per un lungo periodo.
La nuova band del cantante ha appena firmato con la Miraloop e ha deciso di proseguire con le registrazioni e di agire in maniera positiva, sicura che presto il loro leader tornerà, microfono alla mano, a dare voce in questo nuovo e bizzarro progetto della scena italiana.
Formazione, nome, genere, stile di questa nuova band rimane ancora avvolta nel mistero. Secondo l’unica informazione trapelata, pare che Le Sin, viste le controversie passate con i DNR , abbia introdotto nella nuova line-up i suoi più cari amici.
Tutto lo staff Miraloop augura a Mantis una pronta guarigione.

Bologna, 24 Settembre 2009. Miraloop ha fatto amicizia con l’Università della sua città, l’Università più antica del mondo. Nasce infatti la convenzione tra Miraloop e la facoltà di lettere e filosofia dell’Università di Bologna, attraverso la quale fare esperienza da noi vorrà dire ottenere crediti universitari.
